So I go watch a brand new anime in the last week and it eats my brain and what do you know, my writing muse keeps me awake most of the night. DX

Here's a teaser for something \o/ If it interests you, sing out.  Note it's really rough because I have written pretty much nothing in the last two years except for that one shot original e_e; if I'm lucky it'll kickstart my muse again for other projects.

Title:  None, I'm just playing right now DX
Fandom:  Tiger & Bunny  (sh-shut up okay ;_;)
Author:  Nekotsuki
Rating:  ...probably M. :|a
Genre:
...action/adventure/beating on Kotetsu? >.>
Summary:  Well, this is just a teaser.  So I guess you could summarise it as Nekotsuki takes a common superhero trope and runs with it, but I won't explain more than that.

—has evaded Rock Bison’s drill attack!  For those tuning in—“

“Sky High!  Stand by for rescue, that car’s got—“

Even from this distance, Barnaby could hear the crunch of metal and glass, and the blue sports car came into sight over the seafront warehouses, flipping up and out in a graceless arc over the water.  From this distance, he knew he only imagined the screams, hands pressed against back windows that were still intact.  He paid it no heed beyond a single glance, leaping from the edge of the roof to the next building, moving in a steady arc around ground zero.  Trusting his instincts, Kotetsu would say, and grin at him insufferably, and Barnaby’s mouth flattened in annoyance.   Instincts had nothing to do with it.

“And a stunning save by Sky High, right out of the car without injury!   Sky High’s impressive record this season just continues to amaze--”  Billboards everywhere, focusing on Sky High gently coming back to the docks, petrified woman in his arms and clinging to his neck.  Good for him.  Barnaby kept running.   —it seems our mystery criminal is giving our heroes a run for their money, folks!  And no wonder!  Can they run him to ground without—“

There was a roar of fire, and he snapped a gaze off to the left in time to see one of Fire Emblem’s fireballs light up the street.

“Ah!  I’ve cut him off!  Dragon Kid--”

Wrong.  Kotetsu had whined to him over drinks, once.  Saito and his smug looks and his tests, and even though nobody held a grudge in the slightest the point was still made.  “It won’t hold him,” he snapped back over the feed—and even as he finished, he saw the dark shape leap through the flames without flinching and smash right through the plate glass windows of the Waterfront Hotel, and he winced.  Damn it.  And collateral damage—too many people inside—

He heard Fire Emblem’s exclamation of dismay, knew Nathan would be kicking himself for forgetting that little detail, watched Dragon Kid and Origami Cyclone plunge into the hotel after their quarry.  They’d separate and protect the people in the lobby (there’s a restaurant, it’s lunch time, so many people) and Barnaby kept going, leaping again, angling in, aware the Hero TV helicopter above was tracking his progress.

“Mou!  This guy is racking up more damage than Wild Tiger ever did.  We should tell him his record  is in trouble.”  Fire Emblem’s words over the feed were amused, but there was an element of strain creeping in.  Too much truth.

“We’ll catch him.”  Rock Bison, uncharacteristically grim.  “Has anyone managed to get hold of Kotetsu?”

Agnes’ voice cut in, sounding harried, and Barnaby knew her focus was on other things.  Not surprising.  “He’s not answering our calls.”

“Try the house,” Barnaby said flatly, launching himself upward.  “We need him.”

“We have.  Nobody’s home.”

Dammit.  But it didn’t matter.  Even in Oriental Town, all Tiger had to do was catch wind of the news and he’d come running, vacation or no.  Barnaby reached a hand out, catching himself on the balcony of a penthouse suite; jumped again, landing on the roof.  Across the street, Sternbild Finance’s billboard was showing a still of Blue Rose’s smiling face, the ticker at the bottom of the screen totally at odds with her expression.  Blue Rose still in critical condition!  Doctors working in a race against time—

He hoped it wasn’t as bad as the media was making out.  Karina.  First victim.  Kotetsu was going to be so hurt by this—

Barnaby was going to put an end to it.  He crouched on the roof, closing his eyes, opening his senses to everything around him.  Beneath him.  Limned in bright blue, counting down.  Five minutes.

He’d need one.

Below there was chaos.  Crashing through the hotel, the stampede of hotel guests trying to flee—there was Origami Cyclone, ushering them out, Dragon Kid’s electrical crackle as she tried to bring their enemy down, but without a clear shot—escaping into the stairwell, crunching through concrete, jumping and jumping again--

“Barnaby!Agnes again, sounding excited.  Ratings, of course.  “He’s heading your—“

Barnaby was already turning, baring his teeth as he leapt.  The door to the roof exploded outward, punched away by a metal fist, detailed green and white—

“—and there it is, folks!  The moment you’ve all been waiting for!  Barnaby versus Wild Tiger—

Barnaby’s foot crashed into the suit’s helmet, kicking him brutally back against the access doorway and sending him skidding across the concrete, fetching up next to the hotel’s rooftop atrium.

—or rather, the criminal who has the nerve to claim Wild Tiger’s costume!”  The ticker changed.  Theft at Apollon Media!  High-tech suit, stolen!

Barnaby followed up, landing with a foot jammed into ‘Wild Tiger’s chest, crunching down hard—ignoring the demands now coming over his headset not to damage the suit.  This person had stolen Kotetsu’s costume, was apparently intent on destroying his reputation, and Barnaby was stopping it now.

“Seems that this will be over in just a few brief seconds, folks!  Barnaby has the thief at his mercy.  Now we’ll get a good look at the villain who—“

“Barnaby!”  Agnes.  “Make sure you take the helmet off so the camera can—“

‘Wild Tiger’ rolled, hands wrapping around Barnaby’s leg and trying to yank him off balance.  Barnaby retaliated by kicking him again, hard to the face and sending cracks through the faceplate.  He stooped to grab the impostor by the throat, hauling him up and yanking the helmet clean off—

--and froze.

Yo, Bunny-chan.”

Kotetsu grinned at him—a little battered, hair matted crazily, but still Kotetsu.  Barnaby stared—heard the uproar of the studio as the cameras caught their glimpse—did nothing as his partner reached up steady fingers and pried his hand away from Kotetsu’s throat.

“I’m afraid you’ll have to do better than that,” he said.  “Sorry.”

And then his fist slammed into Barnaby’s face.

Yes; I watched an episode and decided that I really didn't need anything else attempting to eat my brain at the moment. Much space for fantastic exploration, though.
