...so the Writer's Block thing is broken, then.  I HAD AN ENTRY HERE.  Which I am too lazy to type up again.  Therefore:

I AM GOOD AT SOME STUFF.

^ Supremely vague summation.
whiteadelphi: (me. hah!)
Actually cried cried, as opposed to read/wrote/saw something sad?  That'd be...two weeks ago today, actually.  When the other mental shoe dropped and I realised that yes, I was fighting stupid and frustrating fights with the local unemployment office because I was, in fact, unemployed because I had lost the only good job I ever had in my entire life.

I'm over it now.  I applied to Adelaide University for a languages degree and am sitting a STAT test in a month's time to prove I am not as stupid as I currently feel.  :|

...I need to update this journal more, don't I.

---------

Also, wow, LJ.  First you post this entry without the answer and now you post the answer without the question?  Well, I guess this is the important part. 8|a

In 1997 I walked into town from Fulham Gardens and cut a path along the River Torrens and was still halfway along the river when night fell. And I wasn't too far from the Morphett Street bridge when something caught my attention on the riverbank. Namely, a pitch-black dog lying there, which kind of ... blended/melded into shadows kind of creepily, that had eyes that were a deep, dying-ember red that flickered.  And it swung its head my way and got to its feet and didn't make a single sound.

My response was pretty straightforward.

/just. kept. walking.

I was back there several times during the day, lookng for the right set of circumstances to have given me an optical illusion of what the Mad Russian and I affectionately termed The Hellhound (made no sound, must be a trick of the light), but we never found anything.  We did find a ghost story about a dog associated with the river, though.

Clearly I spend my time on extremely productive things of late.

Like videos for new anime 8D;;; Seriously, go watch this series if you haven't already. It's Tiger & Bunny.

So I go watch a brand new anime in the last week and it eats my brain and what do you know, my writing muse keeps me awake most of the night. DX

Here's a teaser for something \o/ If it interests you, sing out.  Note it's really rough because I have written pretty much nothing in the last two years except for that one shot original e_e; if I'm lucky it'll kickstart my muse again for other projects.

Title:  None, I'm just playing right now DX
Fandom:  Tiger & Bunny  (sh-shut up okay ;_;)
Author:  Nekotsuki
Rating:  ...probably M. :|a
Genre:
...action/adventure/beating on Kotetsu? >.>
Summary:  Well, this is just a teaser.  So I guess you could summarise it as Nekotsuki takes a common superhero trope and runs with it, but I won't explain more than that.

Five minutes. He'd need one. )

I EXIST.

It's a Tori Amos song, actually.

And if I die today I'll be the happy phantom
And I'll go chasin' the nuns out in the yard
And I'll run naked through the streets without my mask on
And I will never need umbrellas in the rain
I'll wake up in strawberry fields every day
And the atrocities of school I can forgive
The happy phantom has no right to bitch
Oo who
The time is getting closer
Oo who
Time to be a ghost
Oo who
Every day we're getting closer
The sun is getting dim
Will we pay for who we been

So if I die today I'll be the happy phantom
And I'll go wearin' my naughties like a jewel
They'll be my ticket to the universal opera
There's Judy Garland taking Buddha by the hand
And then these seven little men get up to dance
They say Confucius does his crossword with a pen
I'm still the angel to a girl who hates to sin

Oo who
The time is getting closer
Oo who
Time to be a ghost
Oo who
Every day we're getting closer
The sun is getting dim
Will we pay for who we been

Or will I see you dear and wish I could come back
You found a girl that you could truly love again
WIll you still call for me when she falls asleep
Or do we soon forget the things we cannot see

Oo who
The time is getting closer
Oo who
Time to be a ghost
Oo who
Every day we're getting closer
The sun is geting dim
Will we pay for who we been

It appeals to me on a whole bunch of levels. Also, I have been known to throw "They say Confucius does his crossword with a pen" into heavily awkward silences. You should try it sometime. >.>a The looks are great.

Whined and tugged on Youtube's sleeve, they fixed the sound. This one's better quality! |D

SO THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THE LAST TWO MONTHS. An amv for [livejournal.com profile] luceti, which is also my first cross-fandom amv, go figure.

Youtube killed the sound, alas, but you can watch it here if you're interested:

Oh, that's easy.

Don't wait around and hope someone else makes your life better for you. Do it your damn self.

It's faster, more efficient, you'll feel awesome, and if you fail you won't feel crushed by someone else's failure. You'll just try harder. :|

So the Strong World video sailed past 30K. I checked the stats yesterday and it was sitting at 29,960. And today it's...rocketed all the way up to 30,920.

Uh.

SO THAT'S POPULAR, THEN. Given my most popular video before this (Ninja Time 1 or Goodbye) I used to think were doing well when they were getting 50-70 hits a day >_>a I'll take it.

Ergo, feel free to provide me with ideas/questions or whatever. /pokes tumbleweed blowing across LJ

In the meantime, here's a meme I filched from ZZ:

It's that song meme again )

This one is fucking hot. Just sayin'.

whiteadelphi: (just for fun)
Largely because I've been stuck somewhere between having a cold and being eaten alive by an AMV project.

BUT

Said AMV project led me to this gem:

I have been very busy lately, actually. Not with work, either, which has...uh, yeah. We don't talk about work. >_> But I'll come back to actually do a real entry at some point. o/

It's probably about time I gave Bleach some love again.  Though...possibly I just like this because I like the song. >_>a   And it is the Soul Society arc; I kind of stopped caring about Bleach after that.

Guy going home -> Luceti Valley identity crisis/Zoro drama -> Usopp kidnapped -> Brook and Zoro going home -> Noel dying -> sorry no, Noel attacking her and attacking everyone and destroying half the village and then dying. In front of Nami. -> Katara kidnapped -> Vash kidnapped -> Vivi kidnapped -> Usopp going home -> other close CR about to die as well--> .......this is getting kind of ridiculous 8|a

She needs a break, and I don't know how to get her one, because this is all CR-based. Joking about having her kidnapped by a bunch of mad scientists and made to think she's on a cruise or something aside... I don't think I can do that because a lot of those events are stacking up for other people in the crew as well, and I'm not going to yank out a support base for someone else.

...dangers of having a lot of CR, I guess. Any suggestions, fellow RPers? >>
whiteadelphi: (just for fun)
...so this has been my favourite rewatchable AMV for weeks. It's an MEP (multi editor project), and those are often pretty hit and miss, but this one hits all the right buttons for me. |D I liked it from the very first beat.

It's also excellent and serves its purpose by making me want to watch everything in this AMV. Even High School of the Dead...with the exception of Angel Beats, because that looks pretty straightforward, but damn that part is synched well. And one of these anime reminds me heavily of Changeling. Try and guess which one.

Also, the music is Pendulum. *_* So.

Win.

Clearing out my icon folder again. Behold the large amounts of Nami and small amounts of everyone else, for I am not biased at all.  Also, yes.  I use purple way too much.  It's a default for me. >.>

All manga panels coloured by meeee.  \o/

So apparently my neck has taken over for my ankles in the fuck you over just because stakes.  This has gotta be like... the sixth or seventh time in the past few years I've managed to pull a muscle just by turning my head.  You know.  The way I turn it on a regular basis.  So now I am doomed to walk around like a zombie for the next day or two because any fast movement hurts like hell.  Thanks so much.

In other news, the double shin splints I was getting have now shifted into more disturbing land, because now I only suffer them in the left leg.  ...and how.  It starts out as shin splints and turns into molten lava somewhere along the way.  Along with having half the foot and two leftmost toes go to sleep if I do any high impact exercise.  Along with occasional streaks of pain across the top of my foot just because.  (Not particularly painful, but the sort of pain that makes you go "Ow.  Ow. Ow.  Ow.  Quit that!")

So I suppose I should go see a physio or something.  On that future, mythical day when I have the money to do so.

Until then, I am carving DDR out of my lifestyle and taking more long walks instead.  Even if they turn into long hobbles halfway through.  Hell, if I'm lucky the problem will eventually fix itself.

...

I wonder if it's not that I'm unlucky and more than I'm getting old. >_>
